rear starter
Date Added: 08/14/02 00:40 EST |
| mounted starter as shown with alternator above it(not shown) to move engine cg rearward as much as possible, and to utilize the space created by the 30 degree firewall. battery could have stayed on the firewall, but it got moved to the baggage compartment to keep it cooler and to move cg slightly. carb is aerovee by sonex. firewall forward weight is 220-225 lbs, approx 15 lbs more than the 3300 jabiru. |

my panel
Date Added: 11/23/02 01:11 EST |
| laying out the panel in this manner made it possible to use a conventional radio, transponder, and gps. I think it looks good and the radio mounts make it very rigid. the space left is for a future 1 axis auto pilot. |

alternator
Date Added: 11/23/02 01:24 EST |
| alternator is a john deere 20 amp unit belt driven, it could be direct driven, but I thought just maybe the belt would soak up some vibrations, probably wishful thinking |

bottom motor mount
Date Added: 11/26/02 06:01 EST |
| simply an L shaped block that bolts to the rear mounting holes on the block and converts to the bottom holes of the motor mount. The block needs to be clearanced for it. I used a milling machine to do this. It does reduce the pan sealing surface in this area by half, but seems not to be a problem. |
